Groupe Régenord partners with researchers to study the effect of climates changes
Coastal erosion is a natural phenomenon that occurs on dynamic coastal zones. However, since the massive settlement along the coast, this phenomenon is increasingly observed and monetarized.
Worried for their properties, several coastal residents seem to observe an acceleration of the coastal erosion that grumbles more and more ground. This is the case of the residents of the village of Sainte Marie Saint Raphael in North eastern New Brunswick, Canada.
To help them understand this phenomenon, Groupe Régenord teamed up with Professor André Robichaud from the Université de Moncton to study the effect of climate change on the acceleration of coastal erosion. The study consists of tracking the movement of the coastline through aerial photography taken by drone and field measurements.
